Consumer Credit Counseling Service of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Inc. is committed to maintaining the privacy of individuals and/or families who have contacted us for assistance. We ensure that all information shared, both orally and in writing, will be managed within legal and ethical considerations. Personal information such as debt balance, debt obligation, income, living expenses and financial circumstances may be provided to creditors.  This information may not be provided to other parties without prior authorization.  We may also use aggregate case file information for the purpose of evaluating our services, gathering valuable research information and designing future programs. Your confidentiality will be maintained through the use of a unique individual client number or by using aggregate data in all circumstances.

Bankruptcy Services

Pre-Filing Counseling

"Counseling In Motion."  This counseling session is to be completed before filing for bankruptcy. You will receive a certificate upon completion to be submitted when filing for bankruptcy. Available online.

Pre-Discharge Education

"Money In Motion."  This education course is to be completed after filing for bankruptcy.  A certificate will be issued once the course is completed. This certificate must be submitted after you have filed, but before your debts have been discharged. Available online.

Financial Education Course

"Rebuilding After Bankruptcy."  This is a unique, supplemental program designed as a personal guide for consumers who are seeking to achieve long-term financial health in their lives—what we call financial wellness. Not required. Available online.

Credit When Credit is Due

CCCS of the Mid-Ohio Valley offers Credit When Credit is Due as a take home self-study course, and offers a classroom environment once a year.

The CWCID course is also available online. To register for this online course, contact CCCS for your login and password.

Representative Payee Program

Tammy Gaston is the Manager of the Representative Payee Program. Please email Tammy Gaston, or call 304-485-3141 for more information on these services.

Our Representative Payee and VA Representative Payee Programs oversee the payment of rent, utilities and allots weekly living expense with available funds.

Advocates with landlords, Social Security, and other Social Service Agencies on your behalf and provides accurate accounting on an annual basis.

Default Counseling and Foreclosure Prevention. As a HUD certified counseling agency, we work with you and your lender to save your home.

Credit Reports

Get a Tri-Merge credit report from CCCS.  There is a fee for this service.  You must request the report in person, have photo id, and complete the Credit Report Release Form.  If requesting a joint report (for married couples), both parties must be present to show id and sign the release form.  The Tri-Merge credit report includes reports from Experian, Equifax, and Trans Union credit reporting agencies.  Your credit score will also be included in the report.  Please visit CCCS of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Inc. to request your report today!

Credit Report Counseling

A one-on-one review of your credit report. A CCCS counselor will review your credit report with you and advise you of the results.  We can also provide information on how to correct errors on your credit report, as well as, how to improve your credit score.

We will notify your creditors of your entrance into our program and propose for them to lower your interest rates.

CCCS can also help you manage your monthly bills. Our counselors can set up a program tailored to your needs.

You will make payments to CCCS, and on your behalf, we will pay your creditors on a set schedule. Available online. To prepare a current budget, visit and sign up at no cost.

CCCS 2019 - 20 Income Guidelines

CCCS will offer services without regard to ability to pay. Check to see if your income falls below our guidelines to get your fees reduced or waived. You may be eligible for a fee waiver if your annual household income falls below the appropriate level for your family’s size and yearly income.

Proof of income will be required for a fee waiver.
